Business Development Manager (Thailand)

Overview

The Business Development Manager (Thailand) is responsible for driving sales and market expansion for Agri-Tech solutions focused on horticulture and fruit tree crops. The role requires a blend of agricultural technical expertise, strong commercial acumen, and customer-facing skills. The manager will build relationships with growers, cooperatives, distributors, and agribusiness stakeholders while executing sales strategies that promote productivity, sustainability, and profitability for clients. Collaboration with agronomy, R&D, marketing, and product teams is essential to ensure successful product-market fit and regional growth.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for horticulture and fruit tree segments.

  • Identify and engage new customers, dealers, and strategic partners.

  • Manage sales pipelines, forecast revenue, and ensure steady business growth.

Customer Engagement & Support

  • Build strong relationships with farmers, nurseries, cooperatives, and agribusinesses.

  • Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training to highlight product value.

  • Collect customer insights to support solution adaptation and product development.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and developments in horticulture and perennial crops.

  • Identify regional growth opportunities and design tailored go-to-market strategies.

  • Collaborate with marketing to plan campaigns, events, and digital outreach for the horticulture sector.

Team Collaboration & Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with agronomy, R&D, and product teams to ensure product relevance.

  • Support distributor training programs and strengthen channel performance.

  • Contribute to internal reporting, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or related fields.

  • 3–5 years of experience in Agri-inputs or Agri-tech within horticultural crops.

  • Strong understanding of fruit tree crops such as durian, mango, citrus, banana, etc.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and travel extensively across Thailand.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to position technical solutions commercially.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools.
