Software QA Engineer

Overview

A Software QA Engineer in an Electronics Measurements company ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of RF/microwave test instruments and their associated software. The role involves validating measurement algorithms, automating test workflows, and ensuring seamless interaction between software components and physical test equipment such as signal analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and VNAs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Product Validation & Testing
Validate high‑frequency measurement instruments and embedded test software.
Verify measurement accuracy for ACPR, EVM, FFT, modulation/demodulation, and RF signal processing.
Automation Development
Develop automated tests using C# and integrate them into test frameworks using Visual Studio, Git, or Team Foundation.
Automate workflows for data acquisition, measurement sequencing, and result reporting.
Instrument Control & Measurement Workflow Testing
Test software that directly controls RF instruments and processes measurement data (e.g., VSA/VNA workflows).
Interact with APIs, SCPI interfaces, and instrument drivers for test execution.
Regression & Release Testing
Add new test cases to regression suites and maintain automated test pipelines.
Analyze failures, log defects (e.g., in Jira), validate fixes, and ensure software readiness for release.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with RF, DSP, firmware, and software development teams.
Participate in design reviews, test strategy discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Technical Skills
Strong understanding of RF & Microwave basics: modulation, S‑parameters, spectrum analysis, ACPR, EVM, FFT.
Hands‑on experience with Signal Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, VNAs.
Strong programming skills in C# expertise with object‑oriented principles.
Familiarity with Agile, SDLC, and automated test frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, or related fields.
Minimum 1 year experience in software QA, automation, or RF test environments.
Strong analytical thinking, debugging capability, and communication skills.
Value This Role Delivers
Ensures high‑quality RF test products reach customers with accuracy and reliability.
Reduces manual test effort through automation, accelerating release cycles.
Strengthens software robustness through deep RF measurement expertise combined with software engineering skills.
