We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Lead Developer to support strategic, large-scale enterprise Salesforce initiatives for a highly technical global organization. The work includes greenfield implementations, platform transformations, post-production enhancements, new development, and AI-enabled and agentic solutions using Agentforce, Data Cloud, external enterprise large language models, and modern interoperability standards such as the Model Context Protocol.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role within a project-based, milestone-driven delivery model. The Lead Developer will be expected to write and review production-quality code, guide other developers, translate architecture into implementation patterns, resolve complex technical issues, and remain accountable through testing, deployment, and production readiness.
The strongest candidate combines deep Salesforce engineering craft with the same core platform and AI stack expected of the architecture team, while operating closer to the code. This person must be able to move comfortably between Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, Service Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, integrations, security, and modern agentic patterns.
The Salesforce Lead Developer will provide hands-on engineering leadership across enterprise Salesforce delivery and work closely with Technical Architects, functional analysts, developers, administrators, data specialists, quality engineers, and distributed delivery teams.
The role requires a senior developer who can take architecture direction and turn it into secure, scalable, maintainable implementation patterns while also challenging designs when delivery realities require a different approach. The Lead Developer will own technical quality for assigned workstreams, mentor developers, review code and configuration, and unblock difficult engineering issues.
The role also requires an agentic mindset, including the ability to build solutions in which AI agents access governed data, call tools and APIs, take actions safely, and escalate to humans when deterministic automation or agent autonomy is not appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hands-on Salesforce development for enterprise implementations, platform transformations, enhancements, and AI-enabled initiatives.
Translate Technical Architect direction and functional requirements into implementation-ready technical designs, reusable development patterns, and well-defined engineering tasks.
Design, build, and review solutions using Service Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud, Salesforce Flow, Apex, Lightning Web Components, APIs, integrations, and declarative platform capabilities.
Write and review Apex classes, triggers, asynchronous processing, integrations, Lightning Web Components, Flows, custom metadata, validation, permissions, and other platform components.
Apply strong engineering practices for bulkification, governor limits, transaction boundaries, error handling, observability, performance, maintainability, and secure coding.
Implement and review Agentforce solutions including agents, topics, instructions, actions, grounding, guardrails, human-in-the-loop escalation, and business-process integration.
Support Data Cloud implementations involving data ingestion, profile or identity unification, governance, segmentation, activation, retrieval, and grounding for Salesforce and Agentforce use cases.
Build and support secure integration between Salesforce, Agentforce, external enterprise LLMs, enterprise systems, and AI services using REST and SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, and MCP where appropriate.
Implement agentic patterns involving tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, orchestration, evaluation, observability, and controlled human escalation.
Partner with architects to determine when requirements should be addressed through declarative configuration, Flow, custom code, Data Cloud, enterprise integration, Agentforce, or a conventional non-AI solution.
Review code, configuration, test coverage, data-access patterns, security, and release readiness; provide actionable feedback and enforce agreed engineering standards.
Mentor developers and administrators, lead technical problem solving, and resolve complex issues involving architecture, integration, security, data, performance, and deployment.
Support source-driven delivery, branching, CI/CD, environment management, automated quality controls, and repeatable release practices across distributed teams.
Create and maintain technical designs, code-review standards, implementation guidance, reusable examples, troubleshooting notes, and engineering documentation.
Communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, dependencies, and implementation decisions clearly to architects, engineers, analysts, and business-facing stakeholders.
Remain engaged throughout discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, release readiness, and production transition across onshore and offshore teams.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience in complex enterprise environments, including senior or lead-level technical ownership.
Deep hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL/SOSL, asynchronous processing, data modeling, security and sharing, permission sets, profiles, roles, automation, REST and SOAP APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
Strong implementation experience with Service Cloud.
Demonstrated hands-on experience building or implementing Agentforce solutions or other Salesforce-based agentic AI capabilities.
Practical understanding of agents, topics, instructions, actions, grounding, guardrails, security, human escalation, tool calling, and integration with business processes.
Experience implementing or supporting Data Cloud solutions, including data ingestion, identity or profile unification, governance, segmentation, activation, retrieval, or grounding use cases.
Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits, bulkification, transaction management, secure coding, error handling, monitoring, performance, testing, and release practices.
Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems and external services using APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware, and asynchronous processing.
Ability to translate architecture direction into working software, review other developers' implementations, establish reusable patterns, and independently resolve complex delivery issues.
Strong consulting and communication skills, including the ability to work directly with architects, senior engineers, analysts, product stakeholders, and business teams.
Experience leading or mentoring distributed developers and working effectively in project-based, milestone-driven, Agile or iterative delivery environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Sales Cloud as part of a broader enterprise Salesforce transformation.
Experience with MCP servers or clients, external enterprise LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, or AI observability patterns.
Experience with MuleSoft, API-first integration, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, or other event-driven enterprise architectures.
Experience with greenfield Salesforce implementations, legacy-platform modernization, or multi-org environments.
Experience with SFDX, Git-based CI/CD, automated testing, and enterprise Salesforce release tooling.
Relevant Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I or II, Service Cloud Consultant, Data Cloud Consultant, AI Specialist, Application Architect, or System Architect.
