Overview

YOUR ROLE

  • Develop, enhance and maintain applications using COBOL and/or PL/I on IBM z/OS, from requirements through go-live
  • Support online transaction processing with CICS and relational data access with DB2 for z/OS
  • Develop, maintain and troubleshoot batch jobs, procedures and file-processing workflows using JCL and OPC Scheduler
  • Investigate defects and resolve production issues using mainframe development, testing and diagnostic tools
  • Support backend integration using IBM WebSphere MQ and/or RVS
  • Contribute to modernization work, including integration with REST APIs and applications built with C#/.NET or Java
  • Take part in code reviews, testing, release activities and production support, following established quality and change-management practices
  • Work with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into stable, supportable solutions
  • Act as a role model for the team through pairing, reviews and daily collaboration
 

Job Description

YOUR PROFILE

  • 6–8 years of IT experience in mainframe application development or support
  • Hands-on experience with COBOL and/or PL/I on IBM z/OS, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, and JCL and PROCMAN
  • Hands-on experience with File-AID, Xpediter, TSO/ISPF, EJES and BETA92
  • Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ and/or RVS for backend integration
  • Solid understanding of batch and online processing in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with OpenText HostExplorer, SCMS, IBM Developer for z/OS (or equivalent IBM Rational tooling), and Innovator for Information Architects for data model management
  • Experience with ITSM processes in ServiceNow, documentation in Confluence, and user-story tracking in Jira
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a DevOps-oriented environment
  • Good English; the ability to communicate clearly with international teams and clients
  • Nice to have Automation with REXX
  • Mainframe modernization or integration experience using C#/.NET and/or Java
  • Experience designing, consuming or supporting REST APIs
  • Working knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, in addition to DB2
  • Basic knowledge of AWS or another cloud platform
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration fundamentals
  • Automotive project experience or familiarity with automotive business processes
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and other Atlassian tools
