Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to drive all aspects of the People function in India. The successful individual will play a critical role in our fast growing region, ensuring compliance with all local employment regulations and ER practices while driving key HR initiatives across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and talent development. Working closely with the Group People (HR) team you will help drive successful implementation and execution of all people activities from recruitment and onboarding to employee engagement and performance management. We adopt an approach that favours a global framework applied through a local lens and therefore this role is crucial in helping us successful operate with consistency whilst being the voice for the India based employees.

Skills & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to Indian labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
    • Manage all local ER issues, investigations, and grievance handling in line with local regulations.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition team to manage end-to-end recruitment for local roles.
    • Oversee onboarding processes to deliver a seamless employee experience, working with local line managers to ensure all new joiners are set up for success
  • Performance Management
    • Support local managers in implementing performance review cycles and feedback processes, feeding into the group framework and cycle
    • Manager provisional rating review sessions with team leaders ensuring calibration and consistency across the group
    • Coach leaders on performance improvement plans and employee development strategies.
  • Talent Mapping & Development
    • Manage the regional talent mapping process
    • Support employees with the creation of appropriate development plans to help them progress and develop
      their career at PPG
    • Collaborate with the HR BP on group wide succession planning and career progression frameworks.
  • HR Operations
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely completion of HR processes.
    • Drive engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
