Virtual Analysis Senior Engineer Safety Biomechanics

Overview

Automotive CAE / Occupant Safety Engineer with 4–9 years of experience in vehicle crashworthiness and occupant-restraint-system development, with mandatory expertise in PRIMER, ANSA, and LS-DYNA and hands-on OEM experience in occupant simulations at sled and full-vehicle levels.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Independently perform occupant simulations using ATDs and HBMs for frontal and side-impact scenarios, including virtual testing, at sled and vehicle levels. Prepare reports, conduct root-cause analyses, and recommend countermeasure-development directions.

• Actively collaborate with team members and regularly communicate project updates, findings, and lessons learned during daily virtual or in-person meetings. Supervise junior engineers within the assigned team and ensure quality and delivery requirements are met.

• Conduct virtual scorecard assessments of components, subsystems, and full vehicles to support design-release timing and Tooling Kick-Off activities with internal and external stakeholders. Actively participate in design reviews and guide designers on improvements to occupant and restraint-system performance.

Qualifications, Experience and Competency requirements

Preferred Education
• B.E, B.Tech (Mechanical, Automobile), M.E, M.Tech Preferable

Preferred Experience

Essential:
• 4-9 years of automotive CAE experience, with a focus on vehicle crashworthiness and occupant-restraint-system development.
• 1-2 years of foundational hands-on experience in developing and integrating safety FE models at full-vehicle, subsystem, and component levels.
• At least 2 years of OEM experience performing occupant simulations at sled and full-vehicle levels.
• Proficiency in PRIMER, ANSA, and LS-DYNA are mandatory.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, including a sound understanding of classical and applied mechanics and the operation of advanced restraint systems such as dual-stage airbags with active vents and seatbelts with load limiters, pretensioners and related technologies.
• Strong logical reasoning to predict, analyze, and troubleshoot complex nonlinear crash events involving occupants.
• Understanding cross-functional performance requirements, with experience developing design proposals, optimizing designs for weight and cost, and collaborating with design engineers to implement proposed solutions.

Desirable:
• Exposure to Human Body Model (HBM) simulations at sled or vehicle level.
• Experience with Linux scripting, Python, Jupyter Notebook, and AI tools.
• Good working knowledge of metals, composite components, and failure analysis.
• OEM experience in at least one vehicle-development program from concept through launch.

Specific skill requirement

• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High learning agility, with a curious and inquisitive mindset; a collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
• Strong sense of responsibility and ownership of assigned tasks.
