Windows Specialist

Overview

The Windows Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Windows-based systems within the organization. This role involves configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Windows environments to ensure high performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Windows administration, a solid understanding of networking, and effective communication abilities with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration: Manage and administer Windows servers and workstations, including installation, configuration, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.

Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and uptime, applying tuning and optimization techniques to improve efficiency and stability.

User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls using Active Directory and Group Policy, ensuring compliance with security policies and best practices.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in Windows environments, providing timely and effective solutions.

Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tools to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures.

Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies, perform regular system audits, and maintain security compliance across Windows systems.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers and network administrators, to support system integration and resolve complex issues.

Education:

Minimum B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator or in a similar role, with in-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems and associated tools.

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware) and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
