Senior Lead Playwright Automation Developer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and delivery-oriented Lead Test Automation Engineer to head up our offshore automation team in support of global marketing execution. This role is focused on automated quality assurance of digital marketing deliverables - including websites, landing pages, marketing emails, in-App marketing. You will lead a team of engineers in building and maintaining a Playwright-based test automation suite tailored for high-frequency, multichannel delivery environments. Your mission is to ensure fast, reliable quality checks that support timely go-lives of content and experiences.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Delivery Management:

Lead, manage, and mentor a team of QA automation engineers focused on marketing execution.

Ensure the timely delivery of automated test coverage for web pages, campaign templates, and digital assets.

Collaborate closely with onshore QA and production teams to align priorities, standards, and deliverables.

Technical Ownership:

Design and maintain a modular Playwright-based test automation framework, optimized for content-heavy, fast-paced release cycles.

Build reusable test components for recurring QA scenarios: site structure, rendering across viewports, tracking pixel firing, metadata completeness, link integrity, etc.

Create automation blueprints that scale across multiple brands, locales, and platforms.

Operational Integration:

Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated checks are part of the deployment process for campaign and web assets.

Work with content managers, front-end developers, and delivery leads to define test coverage for each type of marketing output.

Create and maintain test run dashboards and reporting for fast feedback to QA and production stakeholders.

Quality Strategy Execution:

Implement consistent QA practices offshore to support high-velocity delivery with minimal manual testing effort.

Ensure automation supports key quality dimensions such as layout integrity, content accuracy, SEO readiness, and campaign tracking.

Contribute to a culture of quality across the broader marketing production function.

Qualifications

Experience:

5+ years in test automation, with at least 2 years leading or coordinating teams.

Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, preferably in content- or UI-heavy environments.

Solid working knowledge of HTML/CSS, browser behavior, and modern content management systems, e.g., Adobe Experience Manager.

Familiarity with automated validation of analytics and tracking, e.g. Adobe Analytics.

Leadership & Communication:

Ability to manage a remote team, enforce test standards, and drive consistent velocity and quality.

Experience working across time zones and collaborating with multiple stakeholders from QA, marketing ops, dev, and creative.

Preferred:

Experience in the marketing/advertising/agency space.

Exposure to localization testing, email rendering checks, or visual regression testing.

Comfort with JavaScript/TypeScript for writing automation scripts.
