L3 Server Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Server Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and manage a next-generation live cam streaming platform. The role involves building a highly reliable, low-latency, and secure streaming solution that can scale seamlessly to support high traffic while ensuring enterprise-grade security and operational excellence.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Design and implement infrastructure for large-scale concurrent live streaming (50–100 performers, 2,000–3,000+ viewers).

Configure and optimize backend servers to handle application logic, token/payment processing, and database management.

Deploy and manage Ant Media Enterprise Edition servers with an Origin-Edge scaling topology.

Implement adaptive bitrate streaming, WebRTC, and RTMP ingestion for ultra-low latency video delivery.

Ensure end-to-end encryption, role-based access, and secure API/token handling.

Monitor system performance using analytics tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic).

Establish disaster recovery plans, daily backups, and auto-failover mechanisms to achieve 99.9% uptime SLA.

Collaborate with development teams to integrate monetization features (subscriptions, tipping, premium features).

Continuously optimize infrastructure for scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong expertise in Linux server administration (Ubuntu 22.04 preferred).

Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (WebRTC, RTMP, Ant Media, NGINX/HAProxy).

Proficiency in database management with MongoDB and caching using Redis.

Knowledge of enterprise-grade security practices (firewalls, WAF, fail2ban, token-based access).

Experience in configuring high-performance servers (multi-core CPUs, NVMe SSD storage, unmetered 10 Gbps bandwidth).

Familiarity with adaptive bitrate streaming and hardware-accelerated encoding.

Skilled in monitoring, logging, and performance optimization with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.

Strong understanding of scalability and load balancing strategies.

Ability to design and maintain disaster recovery and high availability systems.

Nice to Have:

Experience with payment system integration and token-based monetization models.

Prior work on large-scale live streaming platforms.

Knowledge of cloud-based scaling solutions and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
