We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Consultant (8–10 years experience) to support an AI-led modernization initiative for the Product Change Management process of a large global manufacturing organization.
The consultant will work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to understand, document, and structure the current Product Change Order (PCO) process, and translate it into workflows that can be optimized using AI and automation.
This role will act as the bridge between manufacturing domain experts and the SourceFuse AI engineering team, ensuring that real-world manufacturing processes, constraints, and decision logic are accurately captured and reflected in the solution design

Key Responsibilities:
● Process Discovery & Stakeholder Engagement:
○ Conduct structured interviews and workshops with cross-functional teams including:
■ Product Engineering
■ Manufacturing Engineering
■ Supply Chain
■ Quality
■ Product Management
■ Document Control
○ Extract tacit knowledge and undocumented workflows governing engineering change management.
○ Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to drive meaningful insights and collaboration.
● Process Mapping & Analysis:
○ Map the end-to-end product change lifecycle, including:
■ Change request initiation
■ Engineering validation
■ BOM updates
■ Supplier coordination
■ Production validation
■ Final release and closure
○ Document variations across different PCO / ECN types and workflows.
○ Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and dependencies across functions.
● Manufacturing Context & Execution Awareness:
○ Understand how approved changes are implemented in production environments,including:
■ Production line impact
■ Inventory transition and material planning
■ Supplier readiness and sourcing changes
○ Capture key constraints such as production continuity, quality requirements, and risk of disruption.
○ Incorporate real-world execution considerations into process documentation and solution design.
● System & Data Understanding:
○ Analyze interactions between the change process and enterprise systems such as:
■ ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
■ PLM platforms
■ Document management systems
○ Identify data dependencies, data quality challenges, and information flows required for automation.
● AI Opportunity Identification & Translation:
○ Work with SourceFuse AI and engineering teams to:
■ Translate manufacturing workflows into structured, system-ready inputs
■ Identify opportunities for:
● PCO classification
● Document comparison and validation
● BOM and data verification
● Risk identification and prediction
■ Ensure proposed AI use cases are grounded in real operational constraints.
● Cross-Functional Coordination & Risk Awareness:
○ Understand and map cross-functional dependencies and approval workflows.
○ Identify potential risks, delays, and conflict points within the change process.
○ Provide inputs on how decision-making and approvals can be streamlined while maintaining compliance and quality.
● Process Governance & Continuous Improvement:
○ Understand existing governance mechanisms, tracking methods, and reporting structures (e.g., dashboards, MIS).
○ Recommend opportunities for process standardization, improved tracking, and better decision support.
○ Leverage frameworks such as APQP / NPD / Lean / Six Sigma where applicable.
Required Experience:
● 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, product lifecycle management, or related domains
● Strong understanding of engineering change management processes, including:
○ Product Change Orders (PCO)
○ Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
○ Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
● Experience working with cross-functional manufacturing teams in complex environments
● Familiarity with enterprise systems such as:
○ ERP platforms (SAP preferred)
○ PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, or similar)
○ Document management systems
● Experience in process discovery, stakeholder interviews, and workflow documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementations
Exposure to manufacturing change execution and production environments
Understanding of manufacturing constraints such as production continuity, supply chain dependencies, and inventory transitions
Experience in risk identification and mitigation in manufacturing processes
Exposure to APQP, NPD, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies
Experience supporting digital transformation or process modernization initiatives
