ETL Developer – Oracle PL/SQL & DataStage

Overview

We are looking for an experienced ETL Developer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise data integration solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and ETL development, along with hands-on experience with IBM DataStage. Exposure to Autosys, batch processing, Agile delivery, and SDLC practices will be highly valuable.

The candidate will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and clients to understand data requirements, develop reliable ETL solutions, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely delivery of data integration processes.

Job Description

ETL Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL workflows and data integration processes.
• Develop scalable and reliable ETL solutions based on business and technical requirements.
• Work extensively with Oracle PL/SQL for data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading.
• Develop and maintain ETL jobs using IBM DataStage.
• Implement data transformation, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation processes.
• Optimize ETL jobs and SQL queries for performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot data issues and resolve ETL failures within defined timelines.

DataStage & Batch Processing

• Develop and maintain DataStage jobs, sequences, and associated workflows.
• Monitor scheduled ETL and batch processes.
• Troubleshoot failed jobs and identify root causes.
• Ensure successful and timely completion of batch processing activities.
• Work with scheduling tools such as Autosys for job scheduling and monitoring.
• Manage dependencies between ETL jobs and downstream/upstream systems.

Oracle PL/SQL

• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.
• Perform data analysis and validation using Oracle databases.
• Optimize SQL queries and database operations for improved ETL performance.
• Troubleshoot database and data-related issues.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across source and target systems.

SDLC & Agile Delivery

• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Analyze requirements and translate them into technical/ETL specifications.
• Participate in design discussions, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Follow established coding, testing, documentation, and deployment standards.
• Work within Agile/Scrum teams and participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with QA teams during integration and system testing.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Interact directly with clients and business stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Communicate technical solutions and provide updates on development progress.
• Clarify requirements, identify dependencies, and proactively communicate risks.
• Participate in client discussions and provide technical recommendations where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with offshore/onshore teams and other technical stakeholders.
